“Find a job you enjoy doing and you will never have to work a day in your life.” – Mark Twain
Not true. I understand the sentiment, but even if you love it, starting and running a business is hard, hard, work.
Today, for instance. Today is Saturday. The Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Others are at concerts or farmer’s markets or on pontoon boats. I have been tweaking SEO plugins and optimization on this website for the last 12 hours.
I’m not complaining, trust me. I could have done any of those other Memorial Day things. No one is making me work on Wewa Films on a holiday weekend.
My wife was out of town visiting family and my daughter was off doing 19-year-old things with her friends. I had the day to myself.
Why was my first thought, “Alright, I have time to dig in to the code on my website”?
Because I’m an entrepreneur who’s in love with his business. And while it is hard work, I want to do everything I can to help it succeed.
That’s what love does. So here I am, writing to you.
I guess the question is … do you feel that way about your business?
I’m gonna have a beer now. It’s been a long, but good, day.
